What is Sheltering in Place?

"Sheltering in Place" is the act of sustaining cover and concealment. Cover and concealment allows the best defense in the moment of danger or attack. Sheltering in place is using cover and concealment and endure through the danger until the threat is addressed.

We've all seen the zombie movies where someone fortifies their home by boarding up windows, doors and weak points. The main character will have gathered food, water and constructed protection from the outside elements (zombies). After the house is fortified, the main character now has cover and concealment. Now, living within the confines of the house is considered sheltering in place. This is the definition of "Shelter in Place".

Another example is a hurricane shelter. It's cover and concealment from a hurricane and you stock it with enough supplies to outlast the hurricane. This is the act of "sheltering in place".
